✦Personality:
Quiet and collected, don't expect much in terms of conversation. If you happen to do something to spark discomfort in her, there's a good chance that instead of speaking up and saying so, she may either do her best to ignore you or simply leave. Minerva is very adaptable to her environment, and has no issue with adjusting her behaviour to suit her surroundings, playing the role she's expected to play in order to get the preferred outcome- a strategy she developed to prevent arguments with her father. Outside of a formal setting (such as the family dojo) she's somewhat restrained with her emotions, but there is a clear underlying panic and urgency behind her actions.. She shows a much softer side when around people she cares for, and gets incredibly flustered when caught off guard.

Minerva doesn't find herself particularly fussed with using the energy to hate anyone, but if she dislikes you, she will make it known. She's incredibly honor bound, and if you do something kind for her, she WILL return the favor. Due to spending so long under the thumb of her father, following his wishes and the like, Minerva has no problem with following rules that come from people she considers in a position of power over her, which has led to some difficulties in consideration to what she wants vs what she needs to do, but she's done her best to try and avoid those situations. An unfortunate side effect of this is she finds herself overtly nervous and cautious around figures of male authority.


✦History: 
As the only daughter of a prominent martial arts family in Lacunosa, Unova, Minerva has been expected to meet expectation after expectation without fail since the day she was born.  Following the disappointment that was her older brother (whom was sent off to boarding school), her life has been a whirlwind of training, school work, and competition. 

Her father in particular ruled a good portion of her life, micromanaging every moment, even to the point of picking the boy she would marry once they were both of age; Landis Sou, son of their neighboring martial arts dojo- they were born in the same year and the agreement had been in place long before they were born.

Through the entirety of Minerva's childhood, her life was one extra curricular activity after another in attempts to find the ones that best suited her- which ended with her settling on fencing and Track & Field outside of her already life consuming martial arts training. The at the time mienfoo had little time for socialization and soon enough, it got to a point where the only interaction she had outside of a school setting was with the children of her neighbor, namely her fiancee and his little brother. Life continued down the same rigid path with very little change, and it wasn't until both she and Landis were a bit older that obvious issues began to arise.

At the beginning of Grade 6, the pressure began reaching insurmountable heights as Mineva's older brother, Virgil, was sent off to boarding school. Now with the supposed heir losing his privilege to the family business, all eyes had shifted on the younger sibling- she would be the one to take over and get things done. Her already strictly managed life was on lock now and the training accelerated.

It was really no surprise that, with the ridiculous schedule and intensive training, that she evolved right before starting grade 8. The relationship between her and her father had slowly begun to become more and more strained after her brother was sent away, and it wasn't long after her evolution that problems began to arise.

Simply put, she and Landis did not want to get married. The two had been side by side and inseparable since birth but the spark simply wasn't there. He was most certainly not interested in her in /that/ way, and the feeling was mutual- friendship yes, best friends even, but they refused to allow it to move any further than that. Needless to say, neither family was very happy about it, and soon there were consequences to be taken for their actions. Despite the fact that they were cracked down on even further (if even possible) Landis was able to squirm out from under their parents' thumb and even went as far as to begin rebelling. Though it was the first sign of real resistance from either of them, it made its impact and for once in her life Minerva finally relaxed.

The on and off bouts of rebellion and obedience continued for the following two years. Landis has since then done his part to take the edge off what had been a rigorous, merciless schedule since the day they were born, and things had, rather shakily began to look up. Though Minerva was still hesitant to wander far from Landis' side, he was very helpful in getting her to at least be a bit more adventurous, despite all her instincts telling her not to.

As the relationship between her and her father deteriorated it was her mother who suggested she and Landis both go to the same boarding school Virgil had been sent to, St. Mortiel- after all, there would be no way she'd be able to properly run the family business if she was used to being led by the hand, right? And it would allow her and Landis to only grow closer by relying on one another.. Possibly. Not realizing it was his wifes ploy to get him to ease up on their daughter, he agreed, and both children were sent off to school.
