PERSONALITY: McKenzie is better known for being rather blunt with her friends and peers, not hesitating to call them on their mistakes, but at the same time commending them when they do something right. She has a good sense of humor that is best seen while she makes sarcastic comments towards her friends.

Being raised by a doctor, she remains very grounded and aware of the realistic consequences of choices and decisions, as is such- she always thinks before she acts, using her sense of perception to make choices.

She is no stranger to blood, gore, or other injuries and keeps a very cool head during crisis. That is one of the key points to being a good doctor, after all, and also keeps her very aware of just how much is on the line. Mika will never act recklessly, unless someone else’s life hangs in the balance.

She doesn't like being touched much. At all. Especially by men- She tolerates Perrick, however. Mostly because they've been friends since they were young and she knows she could never drive him away, even if she tried. On the subject of her discomfort- if she feels people are getting too close to her, she'll try to drive them away. usually by insulting them.

McKenzie’s exposure to Pokémon was minimal, save the occasional one that would accidentally stumble into the city and possibly injure some passerby’s. For reasons unknown, Pokémon seem to tolerate her to some level, which was the entire basis of her relationship with Vimes. She’s pretty liberal with the fluffball, letting him hang out around her and perch on her head. She’s figured out his moveset- and talks to him- and the two have some kind of understanding going on which has resulted in a companionship.

BACKSTORY: The only child of a prominent doctor in Pewter City, it’s no wonder she ended up having such a vested interested in medicine. Her father took great pride in teaching her all he could about medicine once he realized she had a gift for being able to find/get directly to the source of discomfort with relatively little information. As she grew older, it became apparent that her ability for diagnosing and treating illnesses with little to no information was growing as well, but came with the price of prolonged, agonizing migraines that would greatly impair her work. Not wanting his daughter to put too much strain on herself, he offered the son of a colleague the chance to marry her in exchange for having him take over the clinic.

Mika was.. Not happy with the arrangement. The son in question was a boy she had known since they were both in school together- and they never got along; arguing almost every time they came across one another. He would constantly pick apart her migraines and tell her they were too much of a distraction during work, but she tolerated it, mostly to please her father. However- as the wedding date grew nearer, her and her fiancée’s arguments and butting of heads became more frequent- along with physical results from said arguments- it was only a matter of time before they finally reached a boiling point. After one particularly bad argument-McKenzie ended up signing on for the Kanto army- anything to escape her loathsome fiancée.

Leaving with nothing but the clothes on her back, she didn't have time to leave her engagement ring at home, so hiding it under her uniform, it was off to war.

PERSONALITY: A headstrong, rather grumpy ball of feathers. He’s a bit out of his element in this new setting- and as is such, spends much of his time trying to learn all he can about where he is. Usually from his comfortable position of perching on McKenzie’s head. He has a high amount of disdain for other people- particularly Chase Austerby- and lets people know he’s displeased by fluffing up his feathers and hissing at passerbys- not that it does much good. He regards Mika’s orders as suggestions more than orders, depending on if he believes she knows what she’s doing or not- more often than not they end up being suggestions.

BACKSTORY: Vimes led a rather uninteresting, peaceful life in the Ilex forest, enjoying the simple day to day activities of eating bugs, freaking out passerbys with his vacant, judging stare, and chilling in trees, up until the war started. He was originally caught due to a misunderstanding and generally creeping out a group of soldiers as they wandered through the forest, and then he was promptly shipped back to Kanto for training. Rather than being given to a cadet, he picked McKenzie and refused to be moved until she relented, much to everyone’s confusion.
